On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall fell. After the defeat in WW2, Germany was divided into two states: capitalist West Germany and socialist East Germany. Approximately 136 people (including children playing nearby) were shot and killed by this 3-meter wall, which was built to prevent people from escaping to the economically developing West Germany. The feelings of those who will never see their families and loved ones again due to the sudden violence are immeasurable. Photographer Mark Power, a member of the world-renowned photo agency "Magnum," happened to be present at this crucial and historic moment. The five days from the 9th to the 13th, the day of the collapse, are vividly photographed.
